Diagnostics Engineer
Arista Networks is an exciting, pre-IPO startup company founded and funded by well-known Silicon Valley veterans Andy Bechtolsheim and David Cheriton. Arista is developing a new class of integrated network solutions to address the scalability, performance, and reliability requirements of large scale HPC and Web data centers.

A strong background in these areas is a plus:
- Ethernet
- High-speed phys / serdes
- How system hardware works: buses, bridge chips, FPGAs, hardware queues/FIFOs, interrupts, DMA, etc.
- Specific technologies such as PCIe, I2C, and XAUI
- Python programming
Core responsibilities include:
- Bringing up new hardware
- Creating tests to validate hardware design correctness
- Testing the tests (making the test suite solid, and creating regression tests to make sure it stays solid)
- Isolating and root-causing failures in those tests
- Creating manufacturing diagnostics
- Testing manufacturing diagnostics, making them solid, including automated regression testing of the manufacturing diagnostics themselves
- Coordinating with the hardware engineering team on diagnostics delivery and bring-up schedules
